Licence and trademark

The code is MIT. The name and the icon are not.

The code

The MIT licence grants you the source code: use it, fork it, modify it, ship it, sell it. It covers everything in the repository except what is reserved below.

The name and the icon

"Mande", the Mande name, and the app icon and artwork are reserved by Joshua Elson and 5060 Solutions, LTD. It is the arrangement Mozilla uses for Firefox: the software is free, and the identity that vouches for a build is not.

You may build, run, modify and redistribute the software, publish a fork under a different name and icon, and sell what you build. Please do not publish a build as "Mande" or under a confusingly close name, use the icon to identify a build that is not ours, or imply that a fork is endorsed by this project. To use the name for something, such as a package or a compatible client, just ask.

Third-party code and type

The VNC engine is an original implementation written from the published RFB specification. Dependencies (BigInt under MIT; Apple's swift-nio-ssh, swift-nio, swift-crypto and related packages under Apache-2.0) are listed in the repository's NOTICE file.
